CREATING A FILM IDENTITY FOR AN ESTABLISHED BRAND

In 2017, noticing a certain uniformity across hotel films, we have reached out to Aman with an idea: a sensorial concept where the films would create a glimpse of staying in one of their properties. We had imagined a collection of subtle moments, an immersive experience. The peace suggested by the sound design conveys the feeling of sanctuary which is in Aman’s DNA.

Working side by side with Aman’s Global Head of Brand, we pushed each film a little further, and it soon became a reference in the industry, winning a Travel Video Alliance award in 2020.

During our shoots, we sometimes were inspired a story that we felt needed to be told, or a concept that we felt strongly about in connection with the environment. We would use our spare time to work on those side pieces, and that’s how a series of « concept films » were born, improvised on the spot.

The format of what we called « mood films » could be easily shortened for use across their social channels as a recognizable signature, allowing the brand to communicate intensively.

Today, Aman films are regarded as a staple and they have an audience reach beyond their customers who simply enjoy the escape watching their films.

This is a film we made with footage of some of the mood films we’ve shot around the world for Aman.
